The forgotten truth about human evolution.
Oct 14, 2026Evolution didn't design us to eat meat; it designed us to be raw plant eaters who are able to use meat and starch as survival fuels for relatively short periods of time during Earth's history when plants weren't available - Like the ice ages or in environments with very cold/long winters).
While this part of our evolution is important, humans are not meant to be heavy meat eaters as being preached; let alone "act" like carnivores.
Our ancestors eventually outsourced the biggest part of their digestion away from being raw plant (fruits, vegetables, nuts and seed) eaters to tools and fire, which lead them to gain the ultimate biological luxury: being omnivores and having the choice of what to eat whenever they wanted - this turned out to lead to eating mostly meat and starchy foods.
While beneficial then and something I consider to be a whole food diet, it doesn't fit our modern society at all with chronic illness still rising at alarming rate for decades.
Many regions where this diet and lifestyle weren't adopted or people transitioned away from - don't suffer chronic illness like most of the world does.
Over 90% of modern omnivores and high meat eaters fail to meet the daily recommended fiber intake. Destroying their health. Trust me when I say this - I was one.
Fiber is still known to be the only true food for the gut microbiome.
A lack of fiber leads to a degraded and inferior gut lining, systemic inflammation, chronic constipation, cardiovascular disease, and a significantly higher risk of colon and other cancers.
The modern approach to the diet that still seems to be the standard has created massive nutritional voids and gaps that drastically continue to impact long-term health for most people.
Despite a massive push for supplementation, many advances made in medicine and agriculture - the overall global health is on a steep decline, and getting worse at an alarming rate.
This doesn't have to remain true.
The truth is, today because we have mostly year-round access to a massive variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, legumes, and many nutrient-rich plant nuts and seeds - our highly adaptable multi million year old GI tract (which has remained mostly unchanged) still allows us to completely bypass meat and heavy starch consumption; and completely thrive on a well balanced plant-based diet and lifestyle.
Again, fiber is still known to be the only true food for the gut microbiome.
The number proof for this is the fact that our gut health relies 100% on a very very high fiber diet - which boost everything from mood, immunity, brain health, and much more.
Simply put - if you want your health to improve now and for future generations you must learn how to properly transition your gut to thrive using a well balanced plant based diet and lifestyle - preferably using minimally processed raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
